Being a wine appreciator in recent years meant many adjustments. After attending and organising dozens of virtual tastings with a myriad of different miniature vessels, our conclusion was in order for a group to enjoy the same bottle of wine – plastic pouches represent the most effective means of repackaging and distributing around the country.
Unless otherwise stated, our pouches are filled with 68ml of wine.
Our dispense and distribution process…
- Wines are opened immediately before dispensing
- Pouches are dispensed using peristaltic pump technology
- The remaining air is squeezed out upon closure
- Shipped within one day on a 24 hour service across the UK
We have tested with a broad selection of wine styles over multiple days to gain confidence in preservation. Opening a fresh bottle to compare against at different stages, we found all wine styles present identically to the control bottle for up to 14 days. Longer-lived wine styles with high tannin, alcohol or sugar present identically for several weeks longer. Thereafter some expression and freshness is lost, but the wines retain structure and varietal qualities up to 2 months.
We are supplied by one of Europe’s leading food packaging suppliers. Despite their lightweight (4 grams), our pouches stood up to drop tests and other stress testing.
For those looking to arrange their own tasting, we sell our pouches in packets of 50, available to purchase through the site.
